Our Founder
Edel Langan is the Managing Director/ Founder and Principal Consultant of SPOT Consultants and a leading authority on HSEQ and Integrated Management Systems in Australia. Edel has been involved in HSEQ Management Systems for over 20 years. She holds extensive construction industry experience, having worked on both the client- side and contractor- side, and so understands how HSEQ fits into the entire project life cycle and what happens on the ground.
She has achieved the highest standards in HSEQ auditing in Australia, including being appointed as one of only five Federal Safety Officers (FSOs) in Victoria to audit on behalf of the Office of Federal Safety Accreditation (OFSC) Scheme. As a registered Lead Auditor, she has worked as an external auditor to several top tier certification bodies. This experience has given her the unique ability to quickly see where a business is at, where it needs to get to and how the gaps are to be addressed.
Edel holds an honours degree in Health and Safety Systems from the University of Galway, a Diploma in Quality Management from the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) and is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (CMIOSH).
She has a passion for simplifying and improving the understanding of quality in the construction industry and works to put the ‘Q’ back into HSEQ. Her style is supportive, pragmatic and results driven, always with the intent of getting it done properly.
